From Missionary Todd Brown…

Summertime, summertime! I was one of those boys who really never wanted summer to end, and way back then, we had until the middle of September before school started. I suppose talking dad into buying Levi’s over Wrangler’s would have to be the only victory after swimming all summer long in rivers, creeks, and the family pool. I was reminded of this a day after I was with our mountain kids at the Bible camp, which is always a blessing. The world isn’t quite as carefree as it was then, but although the whole world has been somewhat sidetracked with the economic effects, there seems to be some new growth, much like after a fire.

As many have to change their lifestyles to fit with the new changes, I too have had to ask some questions about the Jamaican ministry. I do plan to be back in Jamaica for a review in November and possibly looking at sharing time between the two nations. In comparing the costs of living in Jamaica and the US, it poses some interesting contrasts. I will be seeking God’s heart for the future here and in Jamaica, asking that you stand with me in prayer over which way He is leading, and to walk fearlessly in faith in wherever He leads.

I thank the church and my supporters for hanging tough with me in these last 8 months. I am excited to see where the next steps carry the ministry!! I kind of know in my heart that I will be off on another adventure soon. There is so much out there to do and people to reach out to. I can hardly sit still. It has been a great learning experience for the time I have been back and have surely seen servants at work here like never before.

Mountain Bible may not be a perfect church, but it is close! We’ve started a life-long relationship with the Caribbean and missionaries all over the world through our efforts in Jamaica and Africa.

What a great thing it is to be working with the Lord in such profound ways! It’s time to rise up again, with new insight, renewed faith, and vision. May God lead us all to work as a family to bring more and more people to the feet of our King Jesus!! Prayer is our best tool; please take time today to thank God for all He has done already…. then LET’S GO!!! Blessing to you all, in Jesus name, Todd Brown
