Rock on the Mount is May 15

Our Christian music festival is set for May 15, at the Loma Prieta playfield. Johannes will headline (visit their site). This year we are adding a few youth bands, including Jared Wilson’s from his high school. I’m also working on putting together a youth band of my own — I’m really young at heart — to perform original music.

This marks the fourth Rock on the Mount event, a festival started by Roth Rind to benefit Camp Victory and missions. This year, I am organizing Rock on the Mount, and proceeds will benefit the well project we’ve been working on for the last year. The missions committee at Mountain Bible Church is aiming to raise $15,000.

We need your help. First, we need someone to coordinate the vendors, whom we will charge $25 per spot. Whoever takes up this task will be responsible for signing up, vetting and organizing our vendors. Second, we need people to help on the day of the event with set up and organization. Generally the park needs a little cleaning before the festival begins. Also we need help setting up the stage and other areas of the event field. What will the day look like? Well, there will be a lot of young people. A group from Lakeside Community Church in Hanford is expected (we connected with them through Camp Victory). Also, as the event will be held in May, we will be advertising to the Christian high schools and middle schools, as well as the colleges. The bands will play down in the amphitheater, games and food will be available on the field. Vendors will line the gazebo. The first acts will be the high school groups, playing short sets. Then, hopefully, a couple of college bands and (possibly) a comedian. Finally, our three headlining acts.

Johannes is a touring band, and they will be providing the sound system and technical support.
