Los Gatos/Santa Cruz – (408) 353-2302
Thanks to a great missions program at our summer camp, Camp Victory, many of our young people were learning about the great need for missions work. It was at this camp that we met Mike and Nadine Gleaves, former missionaries to Colombia for New Tribes Mission. They were an inspiring example to us and Mike offered to lead a group on a short-term trip in 2003 So our church had nine members in the team and joined with five others to serve in Santa Cruz, Bolivia that summer. We worked on a five-acre campus of ETNOS, a training center for South Americans willing to reach out to the Unreached People groups of their own continent. Here is a structure they built on that trip:

Our second team was set to go in 2005 but, with one week to go, we were told by our local missionaries to cancel as the government unrest had closed the airport. Then in 2006 we did make our return to Bolivia. Our team of 15 people did many smaller repairs and projects and three big ones: a brick, security wall on one side of the five acre campus, a new roof on a classroom and designed and built a parking lot at the front entrance. Good thing God brought an architect with us … thank you Guy Denues!
